Different DVD editions of Getting Any? (Minnâ-yatteruka)

Title: Getting Any?
Production company: DreamQuest Films
Country: USA
Release date: 19/11/2002
Region(Format): 1 (NTSC)
Sound: 2,0 Japanese
Aspect Ratio: 1,85:1 (16x9)
Subtitles: English
Price: $29,98
Additional material: Alternative ending, trailer, biography and filmography. It is not, as it says the directors cut, but simply the uncut version, which the other copies are as well.
Note: The alternative ending isn't really an alternative ending, but rather a bonus for those who sat thru the credits, as it followes the end credits.

Where the film ends with "fly man" (or more accurately "grasshopper man") being beaten to death on a huge pile of shit, the "alternative ending" has him jumping from rooftop to rooftop over Tokyo, only to be pierced to death on the Tokyo Tower. [collage - click to view]

As far as I know, this ending is intact on all other DVD versions, except this one, where it has been moved to the extra material section.

Notes: Where some etailers note subtitles, even English, others dont. However, it seems highly unlikely, that Bandai would make English subtitles for a limited box set only and then not update their stand alone DVD editions. Thus, only "Hana-Bi" and "Kikujiro" have subtitles, including English. There is no English subtitles on the "Brother Special" DVD. The box is also noted OOP (Out of Print).
